The chime clock is one of the most distinctive ancient buildings in the square of the old city of Prague. It was built in the 16th century. The clock body consists of three parts: statue, clock plate and calendar. At the hour of the hour, the statue of the imp, which symbolizes the passing of time, first rings the bell and nods continuously, while the Turkish statue shakes its head continuously, indicating that it is always unwilling to surrender. On the right side of the clock, there are two figures symbolizing wasting time, shaking their heads constantly, symbolizing that they do not enjoy the wealth of the world and do not want to die. At the same time, the 12 statues of saints in the upper part of the clock appear one after another behind the open skylight. When the last Saint passed by and closed the skylight, the golden rooster on the skylight flapped its wings and crowed to announce the end of the time. The middle part of the clock is the clock plate, which is made according to the medieval theory that the earth is the center of the universe, indicating the movement of the sun and the moon. The bottom part of the clock is a group of 12 paintings inlaid with round frames, describing the scene of farming in four seasons in rural areas. The calendar is also decorated with statues of angels and citizens.
